  2. The only advice I can give is to contact Home Budget Planners. They are one of those services that contacts your creditors and reduces your interest rates and monthly payments.

    Some institutions have policies against working with these services. Some of those same institutions have similar services of their own. Only one of our creditors accepted their proposal, but they reduced the interest rate from 21% to 9%, so it was worth it.

    HBP also forces you to write down every penny you spend and gives you a budget to work with. That help was invaluable.
